A Color Diagram to Help You Customize Your Storyline Player Colors

It's amazing how much flexibility Storyline gives you when it comes to customizing your course's player! Not only can you choose exactly which player features you include, but you also have total control over every item's color.

We've got a handy tutorial that walks through the steps for changing the colors on your player, but since there are so many items you can customize, we thought it would also be helpful to give you a quick-reference diagram. That way, when you need to change the color of a certain player element, you can quickly find the parameter that controls it.

You can click the picture below to view or print the PDF, and you can also find it in the downloads area. Oh, and the colors in the diagram are purposely kind of loud and high-contrast, just to make it easier to see what's what. Happy customizing!

I have been reading a lot on what is possible and not possible in Articulate and I do know that we can always use the zoom effect on images or on part of the screen. Neverthless, not sure if we can do anything with video files. What we wanted to do for one of our courses is have a video that covers most of the white space on the screen, which we are able to do easily. However, I was wondering if while the video is running we could make it smaller and put it to the left side of the screen for example, and let text appear on the right side; minimize the video that is to fit text to the right side of the screen. Is there anything that can be done? Thanks.

Jeanette - is there a way to pull the Player file designed for Presenter into Storyline? Everytime I try to import it Storyline tells me: The player you selected is not supported. Because the colors I customized for the last module I created in Presenter are the same as what I want in Storyline, I was hoping there was a way to pull that .xml file in and then customize from there. Thanks!
