Presenter and Storyline Update

Apr 16, 2012

Hi Everyone,

I think it's time we started a new tread on the upcoming release of Presenter and Storyline. Can anyone give us a quick update on where we are with these releases?

Thanks

Greg

Hi Greg! Thanks for asking! We're working hard on finishing up the Articulate Storyline beta right now, so expect to see some news soon. For those who'd like to be notified as soon as Storyline's available, you can sign up here. Once we launch, there will be a free trial available so you can kick the tires, and we'll also create a new forum here at E-Learning Heroes specifically for Storyline conversations. The Articulate Studio update will come after Storyline, and we'll provide more news on that as it's available.

No dates floating around yet.  Once we're able to announce a new version of Studio, we'll shout it out on the Word Of Mouth blog.

In the meantime, it won't be much longer before we'll begin the beta for the new version of Studio... if you'd like to throw your name in the ring as a potential beta tester, you're welcome to send us a message at beta@articulate.com. We haven't yet nailed down a date for when the beta will start, but once the dev team is ready to begin selecting beta testers, we'll draw from the list of applicants who have expressed interest.

Hi all

I am wondering if there is any news on an sdk for the player in Storyline. While there are many great things that can be done using java script an SDK would help those of us who don't write code every day.

I am also wondering if user added Player Tabs in Storyline can be turned on and off like the Resource, Menu, Glossary, and Notes.

It would be great to make them appear and dissapear depending on the slide your on whith out having to make conditional statements in javascript.

Hi there Graeme,

Right now we don't have any news to share regarding an SDK for Storyline, but yes, it is on the radar and is something we do plan on offering at some point. The Word Of Mouth blog is the official channel for sharing news of that sort, so feel free to subscribe to it for the latest info.

Regarding player tabs: as you mentioned, Storyline allows you to turn on or off the following tabs on a slide-by-slide basis: Resources, Menu, Glossary, & Notes ... but currently, if you add any custom tabs to your player, those will appear for all slides (it's not currently possible to turn them off on a slide-by-slide basis). That would make a great feature request, though!
