LMS and Storyline

May 07, 2012

I have been thru every tutorial I can get my hands on

I have multiple assessments in different scenes and all are showing up in LMS but my LMS will not show status as completed even though I have passing % at 10%.  I love storyline but have tried for hours to make status as complete

Frustrating cause I spend days creating storyline project (yeah I know I should have tested more thoroughly) and cannot export back to presenter.

Anyone with any ideas?

As a point of information, just put two multi-SCO SCORM 1.2 courses into my former employer's Saba LMS today. One course has eight modules done in Storyline and another has seven.  Used Simple SCORM Packager to combine the modules.

Had to do this because it is Saba: http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=ap9&id=a090o0k0h61l  (yes, it's an Presenter KB article but it applies to Storyline also).

Also had to adjust the manifest file so the launch window closed properly with this:  http://www.articulate.com/support/kb_article.php?product=st1&id=guauo7wk0553

However, everything is tracking and recording perfectly.  Very happy.

Hey Gerry,

I just tried referencing your first link (ever on the quest for more LMS info) and it just seems to take me to a generic Presenter '09 search page nothing to do with Saba. I think the link is right as I searched and found the same info.

Just for info for anyone else, try copying and pasting the link into a new browser tab/window or use Gerry's link to search for Saba.

Thanks!

Did a little research.  When working on the Results slide after a quiz, by changing the "When revisiting" setting under slide properties for the Results slide from "Automatically Decide" to "Reset to initial State" fixed my problem where the lms was recording the course as In Progress even when the student passed the course (after failing the initial attempt at the quiz).  Now, when the student successfully passes the test the LMS will record the course as Complete.

Still learning about Storyline, if a student needs to exit during the course, is there a setting that displays or hides an exit button as in Presenter 09, or do I have to create one and manually place it on the slide?  Haven't found this yet.

hi,
first of all let me say I am newbie and I risk to ask about something already said.. i just don't understand much!

I want to create a SCORM package with multiple SCO.

I built my course in storyline separating units in different scenes.

Is there anyway to export a storyline project into SCORM in a way that when I import the package into LMS (moodle) i can see multiple SCOs in the course structure?

this is what I would like it to be:

(it is a photoshop, I would like to get this result but I dont know how)

Hi!

You'll need to publish each of your SCO's out as a separate Storyline course.  Then use a third-party resource like Simple SCORM Packager to package them together into a multi-SCO course.

Being able to do is a single Storyline project would be nice.  Same for AICC.  (Assuming Tin Can supports multi-modules also?)  Submit a feature request if you agree.

Interesting observation Curtis, I was (am) having a problem with an LMS not handling the results from my Storyline module properly. I wonder if the reset when visited state might be the problem. You would not believe how many problems I solve by changing the this setting from Automatically Decide to Reset to Initial State.

I wish Reset to Initial State was the default setting.
