Just out of curiousity, does anyone use or ever have used the software Toon Boom for creating animations? I'm getting my feet wet in researching this and wanted to see how others feel about the product.
Toon Boom looks awesome (especially the Storyboard tool). I had a play with it a few years ago. When I was comparing tools, Anime Studio seemed like a better fit for me. It's much cheaper as well at $39. The pro version adds more features for about $100 (that's what I paid on sale last year).
I've seen toon boom. Its it more of a high-end animation software. Anime studio while not as high end, is still a challenge to get good at it. I've created a few animations (for my own personal work) in Anime studio and it was fun to learn, but it took a while to get the basics.
Here's another tool for the mix. A bit different output target but the preview video of the tool looks pretty slick. Kevin Thorn turned me onto this one:
Had a look at Toon Boom Animate 3-4 months ago. The demos looked pretty slick (albeit more geared towards cartoon-style movies with all the zoom/pan effects) but I just didn't have time to trial it properly. I remember it being pretty tricky to get into and the tutorials not really doing it for me. It's back (or still?) on offer at only $259 so I reckon that's a lot of tool for very little money.
What does anyone think about CrazyTalk Animator? I use CrazyTalk for facial animation software, but i was wondering about this product for full-body animations. Anyone have experience with this with Storyline and be willing to share?
