Hiding multiple layers with multiple markers

Nov 13, 2013

I have a slide with 14 markers on it. Half of those markers, when clicked, also show layers. When the markers that have no layer are clicked I need the layers to hide again.

Is there a way to do this without doing it for each layer and marker?

Thank you,

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

On those markers where no layers appear when clicked, you could have them open a blank layer. That would automatically close the other layer(s) that were open. You could also setup triggers that would close each layer that might be open when the markers were clicked. Either way should achieve the same thing. Does that make sense?

Always Happy to Help,

Hi Nicole,

Thanks for your question. That's correct. Although if each of your markers opens a layer when clicked, by default every layer that is shown will automatically close whatever layer that had been opened previously.

Yes, by default clicking the next marker closes a previous layer but what about when you're done? Not knowing which marker they will click on last doesn't help there.

Hi Melissa,

A variable setup would still have to have the corresponding triggers to close the layers. But it's possible to have those triggers setup independent of the markers when using variables. Well, sorta independent. You would still have to have triggers on the markers that change/increment the variables.

Or you could do those triggers on the layers themselves. That would work as well.
