I tried to reopen the project from the local drive and I have the same issue. And it isn't with each text area but only some of them. I did also try to recreate the text box from scratch and it still happenning. Is there a way to send the presentation to you so you could check this out? Do you need the PPT and the PPTA?
PS : It's a online course so I cannot send it publicly...
If this only happens after publishing, it may be how it's being viewed. Are you viewing the published output files locally, or are you uploading to a web server or LMS?
If you're viewing your published files locally, this may be the problem. If you view a published Studio '13 or '09 presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.
To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:
I suggest using SCORM Cloud for your course - it's a great place to test SCORM content.
Another option would be to use ourTempshareserver. Just keep in mind that this server is only available for testing content - it is not officially supported by Articulate and all content will be removed automatically after 10 days.

Thank you Christine! I tried all that you just said and that doesn't change anything. We have our own servers and we are ok with this. I did fill the form with everything needed.
I received the file upload for your project and I'm taking a look at it now.
I previewed the project and I see the same thing, so it's definitely not specific to the published output or the server.
I removed the text that's appearing above the strange formatting/coloring and the issue disappeared.
I pulled the original text into Notepad, to clear all formatting, then inserted it into the PowerPoint slide again. It seems to be working well now.
I also noticed that other text boxes (in Slides 11, 12, 13, 18 and 19) had the same issues. I used the same method to clear any hidden formatting from this content and it looks much better.
It's possible that the text itself may have become corrupt at some point. This can happen if you copy and paste content into a presentation when the text contains additional formatting that's not native to PowerPoint, or if there's an issue with the clipboard handling that formatting. It can also happen if you work off of a network drive, USB drive, or any other external source while you're editing the project.
Hi there...I am having the same problem...I was told by Leslie that the issue is being looked into...what a bummer...do you think it would be helpful to reinstall an earlier version of articulate...because this occurred after the update?
I spent HOURS trying to figure out what the cause was because the fixes Support provided did not work for me. It turns out to be a single character in the text on the page that causes this problem. And the guilty party? It's the apostrophe (a punctuation mark ( ’ ) used to indicate either possession or the omission of letters or numbers). Take them out of the text and all the background color goes away.
Articulate Support, can you please address this? I'm currently forced to use incorrect punctuation on my slides in order to remedy this background color problem.
Thank you Brandon. The work-around provided on that thread worked. I'm able to use apostrophes in my presentation again. I appreciate it. The waste of time and energy on this has been really frustrating.
