variables created by Storyline

When "Results" slides are created, Storyline applies its own variables, with names such as Results.PassPercent and Results.ScorePoints.
I have an activity from which I have removed all quizzing and results slides. However, the variables are still there, and I am unable to delete them, even though their Use Count is 0.
I would like to be able to delete them for the sake of neatness, but also because I've created custom Results slides that I might want to use in the future, and they're easier to cope with if there's not a profusion of variables. I have a total of 32 variables created by Storyline that I'm not using, and I want them gone.
Help????!!!!

Unlike custom variables, you cannot delete unused system variables. You can however, rename them (something like 'zzzResults.ScorePoints'), so that any unused score variables drop 'out of sight' to the bottom of the variables list. See here for some info.
