Looking for your opinion on a graphic

Looks like a big rig truck to me...

.. and a nicely done one, too

Looks like a birds-eye view of an 18-wheeler - have you tried adding a smoke stack.  If it were in context I think  it would be more obvious.

I'd say it's a truck, too. Now, at first glance--viewing the post in my email--I thought it was a cigarette or metal container w/the lid sliding off. But yeah, it's a truck.

Are we correct?

Hey Zara,

Will it go over a lighter or darker background? I think two things could help:

1. add a light source to give it texture and depth

2. add a drop shadow to create distance between the truck and ground

You could add a soft edge, white oval over a couple areas to add light.

you draw those up real quick on your ipad, David.

Thought it was a snowboard, can see what you are trying to do now, colour and a light source would hlp, also rounded corners and more detail (mirrors, exhausts), build it really large in ppt, the group and shrink, the shapes are vecotr so will shrink nicely, also rounded corners will look better look at the red truck in Davids picture

Maybe cuz I know what you do, I think it looks like a really big semi tractor & trailer. I think shading & highlights would help. Add dimension. This will help with direction and orientation (my humble opinion). In other words, same shape but with shadows and highlights flipped, could be the semi backing up vs. going forward. See what I mean, jelly bean?

I was trying to keep it flat but i guess it just needs that 3D touch...is this better?

Oops! I see the gurus have already said what I did--and they gave you pix too! Well, I guess I will chalk it up to "great minds think alike" and all that. Happy New Year!

I thought it was supposed to be a thumb drive in your first version (or else a crabby, napping Darth Vador).  I think the 3D version looks much better!  Much more truckier!

The changes you made are good.  I'd get rid of gradient in the pipe and make it darker like a hole.  I am not sure what the white boxes are between.

@Eric - The image I posted was just a stock photo I found.

Excellent graphic Zara. Now you just need to animate KITT coming out the back at highway speed and racing past the truck down the highway.

I'm not massively au fait with image and general artwork, my colleague knocks up our stuff on photoshop -see the company images and incons on our site Sportsbook Guardian  (icon of Bet365) , these are done using Photoshop.

In regard your image - I think it looks really good, perhaps a different colour to black may suit, and the only small cosmetic suggestion would be to change the bit between the truck and it's lorry as it appears to be connected by several bars.  Perhaps add some exhaust fumes? Looks good, and like the 3D.
