Using Articulate for Multimedia Production on Websites

Jan 11, 2013

I'm sure everyone's savvy to this, but I figured I'd mention it anyway and say thanks to the folks at Articulate.

The focus about Articulate Storyline and Studio is all about their using for e-learning modules. And that makes sense.

But lately my company has been using Engage to create different Interactions and then publish them on our website. It provides a simple, fast way for me to liven up our website, which otherwise would rely a great deal more on pure text.

I was telling a buddy who's a graphic designer about this over dinner not too long ago, and he hadn't heard of Articulate. I suggested he check it out as a tool he could add to his quiver.

We've had a great deal of success creating Engage interactions for various purposes. Recently, after OSHA listed the 10 OSHA regulations for which citations were most commonly issued in 2012, we used the Glossary interaction to create one interactive glossary of terms to match each of the commonly violated regulations. Here's an example: http://blog.convergencetraining.com/2013/01/fall-protection-general-requirements.html

And today, we published a little interaction including the CDC's Take 3 program to avoid the flu (simple tips that are worth reviewing if you're not sick yet): http://blog.convergencetraining.com/2013/01/flu-season-hits-early-and-hard-how-to.html

So, thanks to Articulate for making my job easier and more fun.
