I have created a variable/trigger setup that allows the user to take an exam three times and then stops them from taking it again. I've recently added a question bank to the mix and suddenly my triggers don't work. What I'm doing is adding a value to a variable and when it reaches 2 it shows a Disabled layer for my "Retry Quiz" button. Is there some reason that the question bank would mess with my variable?
I don't know what might be stopping your trigger from working. But, when I am debugging a variable problem, the first thing I do I set my slides so I can see what the variable actually is on the relevant slide.
So, I suggest that you insert a textbox on your slide and simply insert the variable in the textbox. %VariableName% Then preview your story and watch what the value of the variable is at each step. This may give you clues as to what the problem is.
