Storyline 360

Modern Text Rendering

The new text-rendering engine for Storyline 360 uses the latest technology, allowing text to flow beautifully with consistent spacing and readability on every device.

Publish to Video

Publish a Storyline 360 project as a single MP4 video file when you want to insert it into another project or upload it to a video hosting site, such as YouTube.

Course Completion Trigger

Control precisely when a course is marked complete. Use the new course completion trigger to send a status update to your LMS when learners perform a specific action or reach a certain point on the timeline.

Modern Player

Give desktop and mobile learners a unified experience with a modern player style that's consistent across all devices.

Conditional Seekbar

Use the conditional seekbar in the modern player to prevent learners from skipping ahead until they've completed a slide. The seekbar is locked the first time learners view the slide. After that, they can drag the seekbar back and forth.

Review and Retry Only Incorrect Questions

Help learners improve their knowledge by letting them review and retry only the questions they get wrong, so they don’t have to repeat the questions they get right.

Rise

Sidebar Visibility

Choose to have your course sidebar open or closed by default, or even turn it off altogether. Turning off the sidebar also removes the course outline from the cover page and requires learners to navigate lessons in sequential order.

Matching Questions

Make quizzes interactive with the new drag-and-drop matching question type. Add up to 10 text-based matching pairs. For example, match countries to their capitals or chemical elements to their abbreviations.

Block Templates

Build Rise courses faster by saving existing blocks and their content as templates. You can then reuse them in other lessons and share them with other users on your Articulate 360 Teams account.

Require Completion of Storyline Blocks

Get more control over course navigation. Require learners to complete a Storyline block before moving on by adding a continue block to your Rise lesson.

Keyboard-Accessible Navigation

Learners can navigate Rise courses entirely with their keyboards. You don’t have to do anything to enable keyboard accessibility; it’s built right into the published output.

Track Course Completion with a Storyline Block

Use a Storyline block to track completion of a Rise course in your LMS. Choose to track completion based on a trigger, quiz result, or number of slides viewed in your Storyline block.

Disable Forward Seeking

Control how learners interact with videos. Disable forward seeking when you don't want learners to skip ahead.

Export to PDF

Now you can export Rise courses as PDF files for easy printing and meeting regulatory requirements.

Turn Off Previous and Next Buttons

Create branched scenarios and decision-making interactions by turning off the previous and next buttons and using button blocks to control navigation.

Hide Lesson Numbers

Turn off the lesson numbers in your course settings when your content doesn’t need a lesson count.

Hide Images from Screen Readers

Hide an image from screen readers when it’s decorative or doesn't add important context to your course. Just add two double quotes ("") to the alternate text to make it null, and screen readers will skip it.

Search Course Content

Make it easy for learners to find information in your course by displaying a search field in the sidebar.

Collapsible Sections

Learners can collapse sections of the course outline in the sidebar to see the overall structure of a course.

Course Translation

Localize a Rise course into other languages. Export text to an XLIFF file, translate it, then import it back into Rise with formatting intact.

Labeled Graphic Block

Create more lean-forward moments in your block lessons. Add a labeled graphic block to let learners explore key components of an image. Just upload an image, then add interactive markers to describe each element.

Block Entrance Animations

Blocks animate smoothly into view as learners scroll through block lessons. You can also turn off block animations if you prefer.

Sorting Activity Block

Engage learners with drag-and-drop sorting activities by adding sorting blocks to your lessons. Provide categories and items, and Rise automatically displays feedback as learners sort.

Process Block

Make your block lessons more interactive. Use a process block to explain a linear process with a carousel of media-rich steps.

Timeline Block

Let learners explore an interactive timeline of events in your block lessons. Timelines can have text and media, including audio, video, and image files.

Knowledge Check Blocks Enhancement

Help learners see what they’ve learned by adding knowledge check blocks to your lessons. Add text and media to create questions and easily switch between question types.

Multiple Choice Knowledge Check Block Enhancement

Add a multiple choice knowledge check with as many answer choices as you want. You can even provide different feedback for each choice.

Multiple Response Knowledge Check Block

Discourage guessing with the multiple response knowledge check. Define more than one correct answer, requiring learners to really master the course content.

Fill-in-the-Blank Knowledge Check Block

Ask learners to recall a word or phrase with the fill-in-the-blank knowledge check block. Turn on case sensitivity for an added challenge.

Matching Knowledge Check Block

Make a list of text-based pairs, such as vocabulary words and their definitions, and Rise will separate and shuffle the pairs. Learners must put them back together in an engaging drag-and-drop interaction.

Blocks Shortcut Bar

Add the most common blocks to your lessons faster. Choose blocks from an ever-present shortcut bar without opening the sidebar.

Convert Pre-Built Lessons to Block Lessons

Convert pre-built lessons, such as labeled graphics and timelines, into blocks. Then you can add more blocks to the lesson.

Simplified Lesson Selector

Now that pre-built lessons are available as blocks, we’ve retired pre-built lessons and simplified the lesson selector. When you create a lesson, simply choose a block lesson or a quiz.

Review 360

Post Button

Adding comments in Articulate Review is more intuitive. Just click the new Post button to submit comments. And if you prefer keyboard shortcuts, you can still press the Enter key to post comments.

Folders

Create folders on your Articulate Review dashboard to organize your projects and quickly find what you need.

Use the search field in Articulate Review to quickly find projects by title or date.

Nicole, Where can I find help for navigation control in Articulate 360? I've created five modules. I want learners to complete them linearly. I want to lock access to each module until the previous one is completed, and I'd like completion to unlock each module that follows it, 1 then 2 etc. I've searched conversations, but I can't find one with this information in 360 threads. The course is a prototype designed as video step by step training, so control is going to be integral to controlling completion to increase retention in new users. The training is for Managers who are new to Salesforce, and considering adopting Trailhead as an internal learning resource. I've designed a Main Menu with hiking trail signs linked to each module; I'd like to also animation each sign's exit (imme... Expand
