I'm looking forward to seeing the changes, but I also need software that allows me to easily make courses that are fully accessible to individuals with sensory and mobility impairments - 100% compliant with federal laws. I'm still struggling with the yellow highlighted tabbing order, an easy way to close caption audio to be real-time with the on-screen visuals, etc. And then the next generation accessibility features will need to take into account animations. How can we articulate (yes, there's a pun) the information that we display via animations to people who can't see the animations?
I agree absolutely. Accessibility is the single biggest time suck in my workflow. There are so many thing Storyline can do to help with this, but for Articulate accessibility seems to be . . . not an afterthought . . . but not a priority either. Sadly most the the better accessibility solutions I've seen/implemented involve JavaScript, which the company doesn't support. Hint, Articulate: When we need JS to get accessibility to work and you don't support JS, then you aren't supporting accessibility!!
At the very least give us a "when this object loses focus" trigger, and the ability to make things happen at a x seconds on the timeline. With those two actions I could cobble together what I need, even without your support.

I love you product, but honestly, your accessibility 'features' are driving me straight into Lectora's arms.
I'd love to move to pure HTML5, but we really need browser tech to catch up, too. Chrome is the only browser doing a decent job on the desktop. For example, IE doesn't display some menu configurations properly in HTML5.
I agree with Mary, we need browser tech to catch up. I would love to shift completely to HTML5 but in my company IE11 is the standard browser used and its support for HTML5 is appalling. Firefox and Chrome are the only browsers we can get consistent results from.
All good, but I sure hope you don't use the design style above for anything you do!
VERY hard to read
Tiny font size
Very thin font which doesn't help with contrast
Very little contrast between text and background (grey text on white???)
Way too much white space on the screen, I feel absolutely blinded, retinas are exploding
I am glad I am not looking at this on a tablet or other mobile device, but on a desktop computer,
In terms of accessibility - not just for the visually challenged - this is not good, especially coming from an e-learning company. I really hope the interface isn't going to be as bad as this. Please NO. I know white is very much in fashion in screen design, but it is not a good fashion at all.
Well i hope so too as ive been hounding them for the last year to make a native version for Mac. We are running Storyline in Parallels but it would be much easier to just have a Mac version. However, I dont think they will make a Mac version based on what ive been reading in the past 2yrs BUT they say we will not be disappointed. So i think we may see a Web based application/development tool. So this way all platforms can develop on it. So basically we would be developing in a "cloud" environment. If this is the case, there may be security issues for some of us in that we work with sensitive materials that must stay within our intranet only. They would have to have a very tight security encryption built in to their new tool. And most of us use our own LMS to publish to. Hope thats taken in... Expand

Anyways all that is just a thought. I may be way off but if you search the web, you will find that there are few companies out there that have done this very Web based thing. They were quite impressive tools. I think Articulate jumped on that model as well to stay competitive. Anyways, whatever it is, we're all supposed to be very very happy in the end! :-)
I never knew that the Articulate team had such a mean streak! Is this some late mischief night activities or a trick before the treat? You can't leave us hanging in suspense like this. We need this NOW!
Sounds very interesting!!!
Much anticipation and welcome for a 'multi-platform mobile development tool' to facilitate eLearning development production.
