So finally Articulate has decided to provide universal ADAPTIVE player in the published HTML5 output which is being provided by other players like iSpring and Adobe Presenter since more than 2 years ago. In fact I was always surprised that why Articulate provided only a single layout player for all device platforms. I hope the quality and practicality of the update compensates with the long wait and makes it totally worth..!

I have been using Articulate products for the past 8 years and have been a huge fan. The adaptive player issue led me to start using Ispring this past spring. I have a huge library of content so migrating from one platform to another is very time-consuming. I think I am like a lot of content developers, it would have been helpful to have some notice about the sweeping new changes as it is not easy going from one Authorware to another.

Thats true Steve. Its difficult to manage jumping from PPT development platform to a Standalone free form tool all of a sudden and vice versa. I faced this issue when I switched from Captivate 7 to PowerPoint Tools. Working on a timeline and working on a Sync Manager are two really different things. But now its perfect as I have got used to it. The majority of learning audience has gone mobile. So the requirement of a Universal adaptive player is inevitable. Articulate being a leader in authoring tools has surely disappointed till date at least in this area. All the courses which I developed in Storyline 1 & 2 suffered with a huge reduction in learning reception as their published outputs didn't do well in mobile browsers since they came up with same player that works on a PC. Great example. For me I have courses published in articulate presenter and began migrating all of them to ispring because of the player issue. that was time consuming but not a huge workaround since both were in PowerPoint I have about 50 courses in storyline and converting those is more problematic. I basically have to rebuild the whole course. So I will be anxious to see what articulate comes up with. One side note on the "cashew" incident. One of the great benefits of articulate is the awesome community. It is an insult to the community that someone would use the sharing forum to tout a competitive product.

I smell a content provider agreement somewhere. Maybe an asset library pass-thru from eLearning brothers? Maybe multi-device authoring and preview? Maybe HTML5 content that works sans-required app for iDevices? Perhaps a new Storyline authoring or prototyping app? My only concern is the begging and pleading that I will have to do with my info security team if there is too much cloud integration (All you Adobe CC people know what I mean).

...i certainly hope for a Mac version too. Im a graphic designer and been working with Macs for 25yrs now. Ive emailed Articulate staff quite a few times and explaining that our IT group has stopped upgrading our Parallels and at one point our MacOS will not support older versions of Parallels and we will be in deep waters. And purchasing PCs and new Adobe suite for all of us here is not an option. Articulate definitely heard us and many other people like us. They dont want to lose us so im sure they came up with something for all. Although they were very tight lipped, i kinda got a very good impression that they would not be rolling out a Mac version but "something else" (more like a cloud version, thats my thought).
