Here's a really simple demo based on a connect the dots game. Building the file was easy, but I found a few ways to streamline the production process. I'll share those tips in another post. For now, check out the demo and let me know what you think.
Yeah, she's a ham when it comes to recording. I didn't use any variables but there are quite a few triggers used to enable and disable object states. I'd hoped to leverage built-in visited states but that didn't work because visited states are still active.
I'll take another pass or two at this file before posting. I'm sure you guys will find ways to make the production process even more efficient.
Great suggestion, Marti. I just updated the file to include the option to view the numbers.
I left out the numbers in the original demo because I thought the color change of each dot would be enough of a visual indication. Anyway, I think it works really well with the numbers now, but I also like the option to turn the numbers on and off.
What do you think?
Hey Cathy - Which iPad are you running? It seems to work okay on the iPad 3, but that's the only model I've tested. The one thing I noticed is that the dots are still a little small and that it sometimes takes a couple tries to tap the actual button.
Can you confirm that you're also running the latest version of the Mobile Player? I'd really like to find out why it's not working correctly for you.
Good points Marti (no pun intended). I'm noticing that the smaller the device, the more challenging it is to select the dots.
Your toggle switch could be used to toggle the number of dots to accommodate a user's device. Users on tablets or phones could click the button to show a different layout with fewer and larger dots.
@Sharon - Thanks for the feedback.
I'd really like to know more about why it's not working in Firefox and Chrome.
Are you viewing the demo on a desktop or mobile device? Are you viewing from a work ro corporate environment? We've heard of some issues with Amazon's S3 causing issues, but since you're able to view in IE I'm not sure that's the issue.
Hi David, Nice game. It reminded me of something I made a while ago. I dug it up and put it here:

Same sort of thing, but it was made for iPad, so users had to use their fingers to drag between the dots. Was a challenge to get it right but I was happy with the result.
What do you think?? :)
Rich
Hey Richard I like it. Did you base that in part on your slider mechanic interaction? I considered giving it a try but didn't want to put too much time into it.
The faux drag effect takes things to the next level.
I wanted to share that I borrowed the connect the dots idea and made it into a version for the winter holidays. This was sent out to the administration of our school system.

Thanks, David, for the inspiration and help!
It works fine on Chrome on my MacBookPro.
Love the idea of both numbers and the coloured dots - my 4year old granddaughter cant manage the numbers yet, at least no enough of them to get all the way round. Could be a good teaching tool - unconscious assimilation of the numbers!
@Laura--I LOVE this idea for a holiday card. BRILLIANT!
@Richard--the elephant is adorable
@David--just so you know, I was able to open your game using FF for Win just fine.
