Storyline 2: Brand Your E-Learning Course with a Logo and Colors

When you’re creating an e-learning course in Articulate Storyline 2, you want the user to immediately recognize that it’s from your company. And there are many different ways to do that, such as adding your logo. But you can also work with color schemes to reinforce your brand presence and ensure that you’re meeting your company’s branding guidelines. Let me show you how:

1. Add a Logo to the Player

The easiest way to place a logo in your course is to add it to the player.

Just check the Logo box on the bottom and click on the link to add a logo.

For the best results, use an image that has a maximum width of 200 pixels and a maximum height of 220 pixels. If your image doesn't fit within these dimensions, Storyline will scale it to fit.

If you add a logo to your player but later decide you want to use a different image, simply delete the link and browse to another image. And if you change your mind about having a logo altogether, just uncheck the logo box to disable it.

When you add a logo to the player in a Storyline project, it will always appear at the top of the sidebar. And the sidebar can be positioned on the left side or the right side of your content. To reposition your logo in the player, simply select from the dropdown menu in the player settings whether the sidebar should be displayed on the right or the left.

2. Put Your Logo on the Slide Master

If you’d like more freedom with the placement of your logo, you can add it to your slide master and disable the logo in the player.

3. Use Custom Colors and Fonts in the Player

You can completely customize the colors of your player depending on your corporate identity or branding guidelines. Just go to Colors & Effects in the player menu.

We have some pre-built color schemes ready for you, but you can also click on Show advanced color editing underneath the drop-down menu to reveal additional color options.

4. Try Theme Colors and Theme Fonts

In Storyline, you can also define default color options and default fonts throughout your course.

Theme colors determine the default color choices for text, shapes, captions, outlines, buttons, and other Storyline objects. Several built-in themes are provided, but you can also create your own custom themes.

Theme fonts control headings, body text, questions, and answer choices. As with colors, Storyline has several built-in theme fonts, but you can feel free to create your own.
