How can I add a button into a character state? I want the character to ask a question and to have two buttons appear for the answers but Button and Trigger is greyed out when editing states.
Unfortunately you cannot add a button into a state. I would add the button to the slide and change it's initial state to hidden , then trigger it to change to normal when the state of the character is X.
I've just been trying to put a button in a state as Phil described and I can't seem to get it to work. I made the button and assigned a trigger then cut and pasted it into a state of a different object. Even though the hand cursor appears and I can click the button, the action assigned to the button (change state of X) doesn't work.
I managed to insert a button into a state and it worked fine the first time it is clicked. If the user wants to go back to it something weird happens and it lightboxes a random slide instead of the specified slide. Debbie's work around worked perfectly. YAY!
Actually, it's not working. I want an info button to show when the user hovers over a rectangle, so they click on the info button and lightbox to an information slide if they want to. I assume this isn't working because a change to a hover state isn't a proper 'trigger' for this. Is that right?
Nevermind, haha! Ive tried to delete my comments but it won't work for some reason. The solution was to change the trigger from the hover state of the object, to 'when mouse hovers over'. Now it works! Wohoo!

Hi Debbie,

Hope this helps
You can cut and paste a button into a state, if it needs to have a trigger assigned add the trigger before pasting it in
Hey Phil,
Will it still work as a button? I swear I've tried to do that before and not been able to use it.
Wonderful. Thanks Phil, works perfectly.
Hi Debbie! Glad that Phil was able to help you out here and thanks for providing an update.

Am I doing something wrong here?
Hi Harri,
I just replied to your other post over here for anyone following along in the thread.
