This is my course!

I had a heck of a time getting the images to look exactly the way I wanted. :) However, I was kind of being a perfectionist. Even with the same prompt it was sometimes misinterpreting my ask - but that's OK because I learned a lot!

I used the assistant to bold key phrases, open with hook strategies, changed up interactivity, added narration... all kinds of stuff. I wanted to make sure that the course had more of a call to action for the learners and tried to alter the language to reflect that.

I also updated the knowledge check on the first lesson to be more relevant to the course content. When I created the final knowledge check I prompted it to make sure questions were focused on the key takeaways from each section. I also generated a course summary.

The ability to upload source content and have the tool organize it feels like a game changer. I look forward to playing around with this to see what's required for the best outcomes. 

Hello all! I did a lightweight pass through trying the features suggested in the assignment, but that was enough to explore the possibilities and I'll be able to apply this to real work.

I liked the easy "Edit content" approach to learning how to use the various features in Week 1.
The AI Assistant convert block feature is a nice, easy way to explore different activity types with the same content, and I enjoyed the ease of use in being able to generate audio and AI images, and change those to be more specific where needed.
I'd love to see a "featured examples" area for the course, perhaps with Articulate's selection of a few showcase courses that feature best practices, innovative uses of the AI output, and allow for comments from the cohort.

Updates to Boost Learner Engagement

I added audio in a few spots to give learners another option other than reading all the content, refreshed the flashcards with stronger visuals using AI-edited images, and adjusted the content into smaller, more digestible chunks to make it easier to follow. These updates helped balance the experience and kept learners more actively engaged throughout the course.

Most Helpful AI Feature

The AI Image prompt and Edit Text features were the most helpful because they sped up both content creation and revisions. I didn’t expect how much small prompt changes would improve the output. It really takes some trial and error to get it right.

Challenges with AI Outputs

One challenge came up with a flashcard section where I wanted to use the same AI-generated characters across all 5 cards, just in different scenes and outfits with consistent text at the bottom. Maintaining that level of consistency in Rise wasn’t really manageable, so I had to move the images into Storyline to edit them. It added extra steps, but I was much happier with how consistent everything looked in the end.

1. Share 3 changes you made to the Rise AI Course Draft to improve learner engagement. Why did you make those changes to your project? 
   • One thing I wanted to do way make it as easy to navigate for the user, so I chose to add and keep the navigation bar open as you're working through the content. 
   • I also broke up the sections using color so it's easier on the eyes. And with that I bolded the key words within each section. 
   • Finally, for the overall content I actually kept the same structure, so the learner knew what to expect in each lesson. And then I made sure to add audio files where appropriate to eliminate reading fatigue. I was originally going to add it to everything, but I don't know if that's too much. Would love to hear other's opinions on that.
2. Which AI feature or capability was most valuable in your workflow, and why? 
   • I really enjoyed the AI Block Converter. I think it was a great tool to see the same content in multiple ways really quickly. I think it helped structured the overall content quickly. I was able to switch and move blocks around with ease. 
3. What challenges did you face when trying to get AI to produce the results you wanted?
   • The biggest challenge I faced was with the images. I felt that they kept producing the same images over and over again. I also didn't like that the default for the people was 'white males'. You had to be very specific to get to give you anything else.

Hi everyone! Here's teh link to the Rise course I built. Like several others, I also primarliy develop in Storyline, so it was nice working in Rise.

1. Changes:

Custom Image Prompts: I used the custom image prompt when creating all the images in the course. In the past, I haven't been that sucessful when generating AI images, and I feel like the main reason for that was my prompting, so I liked being able to generate the prompt from the course text. It also helped me understand what information I might need to add in future image prompts. 

Convert a Block:

I loved this feature. Seeing all the features in Rise made me excited to what might available in Storyline in the future. In the course, I changed several of the blocks, some to tabs, others to accordian, and some to text. There were often times where I felt that there was block after block and needed to add more text for a more visual and better flow.

AI Audio:

This is something I use a lot in Storyline. I also love how it generates cc. I played around with it a little bit in this course as well and added audio in the first section.

2. AI feature:

Feedback Type: I really liked learning about the change feedbacy type feature. I can see myslef utilizing this one a lot. I think this one will save me a lot of time in the future. 

3. Challenges

I'm not sure if this is a challenge, but there were a lot of great prompts in the learning videos, and I found it diffiuclt to remember them. I was going back and forth in the course and then decided to make a OneNote with all the prompts. 😄

1. Three changes made to improve learner engagement (and why)

• I used several types of interaction (drag and drop, knowledge check, labeled graphic, etc.) to keep the learners engaged and active. I tried to avoid using longer chunks of text as I realised some learners get easily bored when reading too much.
• I added audio to replace some written text, to give learners more ways to explore the course. For example, I added custom blocks with testimonials, written and audio, which gives a more ‘human’ approach to the subject.
• AI image generation with the custom style prompt was a game changer. I was able to create my color palette, style of images and use the same prompt throughout the course for consistency and better user experience. In another project, I was able to use my organisation’s color palette and graphic style to generate images that fit our visual identity, thanks to a custom prompt.

2. Most valuable AI features and why

• AI block convert is an amazing feature as I was able to see very quickly what a block would look like and decide to keep or change it if I didn’t like it.
• AI voices are great! I was using them before but from another website, so I had to download them and upload them to my course. The fact that they are integrated now is a real time saver! I build courses in French and English and I was able to find voices with accents that fit my organization’s needs so I’ll definitely keep using these for a long time.

3. Challenges using AI

• I felt that the generated course was a bit long and repetitive. I made a lot of changes to make it shorter and more relevant. But overall it gave me a lot of good ideas to start.

I work mostly in Storyline and had a brainfart while adding my knowledge check, I forgot that it could be added as a separate block and just added it to the end of the last lesson :( 

3 Changes I made: Added hook style/scenarios to the start of the lessons, added AI images to flashcards and throughout the lessons, added an AI image that went along with scenario and added AI audio instead of text. The followed it up with and interactive block that pulled out some of the key points to reflect on. 

Which AI feature or capability was most valuable: The AI audio and the sync to text in Storyline will be game changes for the content I develop.  

What challenges: I still struggle with AI prompts, I am never creative enough to tell it what I want. But I am getting better, this cohort has given me some good ideas!

3 changes I made to my course to improve learner engagement were:

• I used AI instant convert on several of the blocks to change lengthy paragraphs into interactive blocks. Or I converted blocks if I felt like the information would flow better in a different style block for example converting a tabs interaction block to an accordion block. It's important to break up the content of reading vs. interactivity to help keep the learner engaged. 
• I used AI to shorten the amount of content/writing in a lot of sections throughout the course. This helps the learner to digest the information easier. I found several instances where the word count could be shortened while the important information remained in tact and it was easier to connect back to the learning objective. 
• I mixed up the knowledge checks with interactions like the matching knowledge check to give learners variety vs. a traditional multiple choice/response question. 

The AI feature that was most helpful was learning how to generate custom image prompts. I will be using this feature daily to help generate a variety of images that relate to the content we create in our day rather than using the same bank of images we currently have. 

A challenge I struggle with is prompt writing and refining what I am asking AI to achieve better results. This cohort helped with that :)
