Creating Branded Character Sets with AI

Hello everyone,

DEMO Link

One thing I've really enjoyed experimenting with recently is using AI to create custom character sets for eLearning projects. Instead of relying on generic stock characters, I started by looking at the organisation's branding guide and using those colours, styles, and audience needs within my prompts.

By including details such as clothing colours, industry setting, job role, and the overall tone of the learning experience, I was able to generate characters that felt much more aligned to the business and the learners. For example, a healthcare course might use professional clinical characters, while a leadership programme could feature office-based managers and team members.

Once I had a character I liked, I used Articulate AI Assistant to help refine and expand the set. This made it much easier to create different poses, expressions, and scenarios while keeping the same face, hairstyle, and overall appearance. I could change clothing colours to match the brand, create welcoming poses, thinking poses, feedback poses, and even scenario-based expressions, all while maintaining a consistent look and feel throughout the course.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much time this saved. It also helped create a more cohesive learner experience, as the same characters could appear across multiple modules rather than changing from screen to screen.

I've included an example here to demonstrate the approach. The prompts used to generate the character sets can be found in the marker on the slide, so feel free to explore and adapt them for your own projects. Hopefully, they provide a useful starting point for creating branded, consistent, and learner-focused character libraries.

I'd be interested to hear how others are using AI and character prompts in their Storyline and Rise projects, and whether you've discovered any tips or techniques for maintaining consistency across a larger programme of learning.

This is a great application of AI. The continuity across characters and the scene makes this look really polished.

Aww, thank you so much, Jodi! 😊 That really means a lot. Positive feedback from one of my eLearning gurus has absolutely made my day. I genuinely love your work and always learn so much from it. ❤️
