Adding Background to Engage

I have created PPT slides and Engage interactions.  I did not use a slide master because I didn't know how.  Now I need to integrate my background into my Engage interactions.  I figured out how to do it for Quizmaker but Engage has me stumped.  I tried to follow the Screenr at http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/making-your-engage-interaction-look-seamless-with-your-presenter-project.aspx

But still no luck.  I am using PowerPoint 2003.  I've put my background on a slide master and set up the presentation option to include the slide master behind the interaction.  And that's where I get stuck.  When I right-click on the slide in PPT and select slide layout on the right-hand side, I have all the standard layout options but nothing that looks like my slide master.  Can anyone give me some guidance?
