I've created some SWF files with another tool (JING) and would like to add them to events in a timeline interaction.
Problem is, when I try to do that, engage freezes up. I click the Add Media button/link, and can browse to my previously created swf file. But once I select it and click Open, engage just stops responding. The swf files are between 500 and 800 KB each.
If anyone has suggestions for getting around this, I'd be grateful!
Are you able to add other .swf files not created in Jing? I have run into this problem and from what I remember the work around was to insert a .swf file published with a different program then to switch out the files after publishing. I wish I could come across a link describing it in more detail. Something else to check is if Jing uses Action Script 3 which is not compatible with Articulate. I know this is a common problem for Captivate 5 users. Hope this helps.
In my case, problem was even with AS2 Captivate videos. Excluding Playbar in timeline multimedia properties was solution for me. If you need playbar for video, you can add similar custom playbar in captivate skin settings directly into swf.

Thanks Joe, I'll find another app to use to create my swf files and see if that works.
