Advance Slide button does not appear

Dec 21, 2012

Hi Everyone!

Please see the attached course.

Slides 6 & 13 are Engage Quizzes.

Upon completion of each quiz the slide stops at 31 seconds rather than going all the way to 36 seconds.

And the Advance slide button does not light up and blink in blue.

The slide will advance by clicking next slide, but my boss wants it to be simple for our learners who may have limited technical abilities.

Can anyone on the Articulate team help with this?

Thanks you and Merry Christmas!

Dan,

I think the issue is that engage really isn't a quizzing tool per se.  You can use it for knowledge checks like you have here, but some of the functionality won't work as you'd like.  In this case, the reason that it's stopping at 31 seconds is because it's still got another section to cover.  Engage is meant to reveal discrete bits of info. In this case, you have 3 tabs that all show some bit of info.  Clicking the 1st tab takes you so far into the seekbar, then 2nd tab takes you further (31 seconds on your slide 6), and the 3rd tab to the end. The blinking won't kick off until the seek bar reaches the end of the interaction (meaning the learner has viewed all the information). Engage isn't meant to track a "correct" answer and then start the blinking.  It's simply tracking whether you've clicked on each of the tabs.

So...two options....

1. Use Quizmaker as your knowledge check tool.

2. Switch the correct answer to the last tab in your engage interaction.  This will then cause the blinking to begin after they select it.

Hope this helps!

Mike
