If the publishing wizard becomes unresponsive, the first thing to check is that your presentation is located on your local hard drive (usually your C: drive) and and that your publish location is also to your local hard drive. Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior.

Is it just a certain project or is it all projects?

Hi D,

What version of Engage and Word are you using? I'd start by confirming that you're publishing using the steps here, and I'd also want to know if you've seen this publish issue with any other Engage files or trying to use any of the other publish types (LMS, Web, etc.). 

Next, I'd suggest repairing Studio to see if that resolves it! Keep us posted on how things are moving alone.
