Articulate Studio '13 navigation restriction

Hi,
we tried Articulate Studio '13 Demo.
in the audio interactions of Articulate Studio '09, setting navigation restriction on "restricted", the learner had to wait for the end of the seekbar time to see the next slide.
In the new Articulate version, setting navigation on "restricted", in the slide the learner can't advance, instead in the interactions he can move without any limitations.
Now, how is it possibile in interacions make them wait for all the seekbar time, considering also that the advance must be setting on "by user" and not "auto"?
Thank you
Francesca

Hi Francesca,
Are you trying to restrict the navigation within an Engage Interaction that is added to your Presenter course? You can customize the interaction properties, and determine how you'd like the follow setting to behave:
If I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to accomplish, please let me know.
Hi Ashley,
thank you for your help but i didn't solve my problem.
I customized the interactions properties on "After viewing all the steps", as you can see in this screenshot
In spite of this there is still the problem with interactions (only with interactions, with single slide it works).
In audio interactions the learner can advance without waiting for the end of the timeline. I unchecked the option "Allow user to seek within seekbar"
Here screenshots of other settings.
Could it be only a problem of Articulate '13 Demo?
I hope you can find the solution
Thank you
Francesca
Hi Francesca,
The trial version of Articulate Presenter 13 is the same as the full version. Are you able to package your Presenter files and share with us here?
Navigation controls have changed a lot in Presenter '13. How can I DELAY users from reading the next slide for 10 seconds?
Hi Rob!
If you have the slides set to auto advance, for instance, you can control the time in the Presenter Options.
I want the reader to self advance using the menu after a 10 second delay. I have set menu setting navigation to restriced and slide properties to advance by user and free navigation (the prev & next buttons are turned off). HOW can reader advance the slides using the menu ?
Hi Rob!
By choosing restricted navigation, this does not allow the user to navigate ahead in the course as this only allows them to visit slides they have previously visited as explained here.
The time factor delay is only valid for auto navigation.
To navigate via the menu by the user, the navigation will have to be set to free.
Hello! I have set the menu to allow the student to see PREV only, and not NEXT so that the student can go back anytime by either pressing PREV, or going back and clicking on the menu, but NOT allow them to progress. I have also tried to change Navigation to RESTRICTED but it's not working. Could you tell me how to do this? Thanks.
Hi Jennifer! Do you have a project file that you would like me to take a look at? If you cannot share it here in the forums, you are welcome to share your Articulate Package with us here privately.
Was Francesca's issue ever resolved? I am finding the same problem.
Hi Anet!
Francesca worked with our support team and it was found that this is expected. As soon as the last step required "begins", they can move forward.
Hi Leslie,
My users can move forward in the interaction before audio ends; they cannot leave the last interaction until audio ends but any tab inbetween can be advanced forward over the audio. This is not desired. I have scoured the forums, tried multiple settings and cannot find a resolution. Here's what I currently have:
Interaction Properties = Interactive + Prev/Next buttons, Multiple Items, After Viewing all Slides, Step in Interaction
Slide Properties = Advance by User
Navigation = Locked
Please can someone help. My client is not happy.
Update ... I have submitted a Case to support -- thanks :)
Hi Anet! This is controlled via the playback mode within Engage. You will need to change this to Presentation Mode.
I just responded to your support case as well.
Hi Leslie -- Thank you for the quick response. Just to confirm .. we trade user navigation for presenter navigation mode for interactions? I was hoping to have the Prev/Next buttons available for user to navigate ONLY when audio finished.
Unfortunately, that is correct Anet.

Hi Folks,
Just looking for a bit of clarity. The way I'm understanding all of this is that there is no way to gate within an engage interaction itself, but you can gate from slide to slide...?
Kind Regards,
Vince
Hi Vincent!
You have some Playback Mode options within Engage. Are you looking for Presentation Mode perhaps?
If your Engage Interaction is within a Presenter project.
When course navigation is Restricted in Articulate Presenter '13, learners won't be able to advance past an embedded interaction until it's complete. An interaction is considered complete when learners reach the last step of the interaction.
