Just so we're clear about what you'd like to so, are you able to post a screenshot pointing out what buttons you do or do not want for you interaction? Thanks!
in the second image (the engage is Tabs) you can show the button "next slide", in the first image (the engare is Stairstep from Community Interectations) can not show the button. The settings are the same.

I confirm that isn't last slide in my course. This problem is present for new engage that i have download from Community.
