Default Engage Colours

Jun 23, 2014

Is there anyway to edit the Default Engage colours ?

The current ones dont match my intended theme. It is a small hassle to go into More Colours and select my "Custom Colours".

Or perhaps there are other options. Please do let me know what have discovered !

Thanks

Hi Trav,

Are you referring to the interaction colors, or just the colors for that specific interaction type?

If you're referring to the interaction itself, no - you can't change the colors that are defaulted. You can use custom colors, as you've already pointed out, and this is the best way to alter the layer colors for the Circle Diagram.

If you'd like to see more options, I'd recommend sharing your thoughts with our product development team.

If this isn't what you're wanting to do, please let me know.

Thanks!

Yes, I am talking about those colours. I find them very well "primary". Its a massive shame  that cant change them.

I would like have my own default colours.

So now where are these custom colours stored ?

They must be located in the App folder ?

I know that the themes are located here: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Engage\3\ThemeColors\

http://community.articulate.com/blogs/nicole/archive/2013/11/14/creating-custom-color-schemes-in-articulate-engage-13.aspx

But would it be possible to set the custom colours shown in the image in a file located somewhere in the App or install folder? That would be a huge time saver !

Hi Trav,

I'm afraid not. The functionality just isn't supported at the moment.

I do agree that it would be a time saver. I use a lot of custom colors for my development as well.

Again, the best way to see this type of feature added is to share your request with the development team. Be sure to be as detailed as possible and share the link with colleagues that would find this useful. The more information we have, the better :)

Best,

Christine

Well Christine,

I did manage locate the file ! So you can set your custom colours for Engages and Quizzes and its possible to share them.

This could be a huge time save for you !

The file is just a simple XML file located in the C:\ app folder

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Articulate\Shared\3.0\customcolours.xml

------e.g..----

#XXXXXX

#XXXXXX

---------------------
You can go in edit it with you own HEX colours with ease ! The colours are then available in both Engage and Quizmaker !

You can share this
customcolours.xml file with family, friends and other developers if you care too!
Hope that help !
Till then
Trav
