I'm using windows 8 and PowerPoint 2010 when I start Engage within PowerPoint I get an error message "AP6.exe has stopped working" and I then have to select "close program". I can't run Engage stand alone either. However Quizmaker works ok. I've reinstalled Articulate Studio which hasnt fixed the problem. Any ideas?
Hi Martin, This doesn't seem like specific to Windows 8. I'm also running Windows 8, and able to launch Engage'09 independently and form within Powerpoint 2010. I'm using Windows 8 pro with the latest updates. Do you have Studio '09 update 8 installer?
Hi Marvie - I also don't think it's a windows 8 problem, something doesn't seem to be right with Engage/PowerPoint after the windows 7 to 8 upgrade. I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 8 and when running on 7 everything was fine. Yes, I've re-installed Studio '09 using the latest download from Articulate. Hmmmmm?
2. Repair Microsoft Office: a. Go to Control Panel. b. Select Microsoft Office 2010 -> Click Change. c. Select Repair. 3. Restart computer. 4. Install Articulate Studio '09.
I hope this helps. If not, we probably need support to help you out with this.
BTW, if I'm not too late, I saw a knowledge base article regarding troubleshooting Studio'09 erratic behavior. It was kind of a long list, but it has a link to a script that wipes out all Articulate registry keys found in your computer, which basically, after running, it will give you a clean slate and your computer is ready for a clean re-installation of Studio '09. To summarize my steps (running the script to clean up registry step being added):
1. Uninstall Articulate Studio '09. 2. Download and extract the following file: http://files.articulate.com/kb/ap09/scripts.zip 3. Right-click Pre.bat file -> Run as administrator. 4. Repair Office. 5. Restart. 6. Reinstall Studio '09 update 8.
I'm having real PROBLEMS trying to publish PPTS w/ Articlate Presenter and Windows 8.
When I tell it to publish, I get very screwed-up results: Type goes verticle (from normal horizontal) and mysterous blue boxes are inserted to slides.
We have been using Presenter for 5 years now, but this makes it almost unfunctionale. At seeming randon intervals the PPT file is corrupted when I go to publish as FLASH.

Thanks Marvie - by coincidence I did the MS Office repair, rebooted a couple of days ago and unfortunately the problem remains.
I can't remember now if I did a delete of Articulate studio 09 first then after repair of MS Office and re-install so I'll try that again.
Hi Martin,
I'd be curious to know how it goes.

Any suggestions?
Does anyone use Studio'09 with Office 2013?
Studio 9 is not compatible with Office 2013
