Engage Interaction on another PC

Jul 05, 2011

Hi Everyone!

I currently have Articulate Studio '09 on my work PC and my home PC.  The other day, I created an Engage Interaction on my home PC and saved it to Dropbox.  When I opened it at work to try to edit it, it didn't recognize the file.  It's almost like I have to start and finish the interaction within the same PC.  Is this the case or am I needing to move something else other than the published output?  Does anyone know?  I wanted to check with everyone before I reached out to Tech Support.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. The first thing I would ask is do you have the entire Articulate Studio '09 installed on both machines? If you only have Presenter installed, it won't open an Engage file. You would need to install Articulate Engage to be able to edit the interaction. If you have your Engage serial number, you can download and install the entire suite of products using the installer here:

Justin-

Thanks for the prompt response.  Oops, that was a complete typo.  I do have Articulate Studio on both PC's (not just Presenter).

I opened up the file from Dropbox and it opened it via Engage.  However, that was as far as I could go.  I'm clicking on the .swf file in the Engage output folder, but, it doesn't open.  It comes up with "This project cannot be opened.  Please make sure it is not already open in another instance of the application and try again".  But, it isn't opened anywhere else.  So, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Jennifer

I would suggest submitting a case by creating a screencast of the steps you are taking so we can see the error messages, etc... You can do that here:

After creating the screencast and you have a case number, send us your INTR file so we can use it to troubleshoot what is happening.
