Engage Interaction-Post Its

Oct 24, 2013

On the bulletin board with post-it notes, clicking the next button makes the dialog boxes to pop-up even after I clicked on every post-it. That is, after I clicked on each of the post-it notes and read the corresponding questions, I clicked next, and when I clicked next, the corresponding questions popped up a second time. This meant that I had to go through the pop-ups twice before I could get to the next slide.

Can you advise?

Thanks!

Hi Yasmin,

I assume that you have this set up within a Presenter course? I tried this myself, and when I clicked on the "Next" button it only showed me one post it note that I hadn't viewed, and then transitioned to the next slide. To prevent unusual behavior you'll want to ensure you're working with local project files, and that when you publish your project you test it within the intended environment. If your course continues to behaves oddly, are you able to conduct a repair of your Studio software?

Hi, Ashley,

Yes, I have set up this interaction in a Presenter course and am publishing with local project files. I also have the settings set so that the user can leave the interaction at any time. Even if I click through all the post-its and hit the forward button, it will still make me go through all of them again. I just downloaded the '13 version two days ago, so I shouldn't have to repair Studio software, should I?

Hi Yasmin,

I see that Gren replied to your case and shared the following:

In Presenter '13, each step in an Engage interaction is considered as a slide, and so the Next (and Previous) button moves between the steps as well.

You can change the order of the steps, so the last step is the 'Rights' step. This way, after users have viewed this 'Rights' step, clicking the Next button would move to the next slide.

If you'd like to change the default behavior when navigating Engage interactions in Presenter '13, you can file this as a feature request. To ensure that your suggestion is appropriately routed to our product development team for review, please submit your feature request here:
