Engage interaction will not display properly in a continously-looping PowerPoint Presentation.

Jul 19, 2016

Hello All.  I have inserted an Engage interaction (the FAQ type) into a PPT presentation.  The PPT presentation is set up to run continuously, looping back to the beginning at the conclusion of the last slide.  On the first run of the PPT presentation the Engage interaction automatically advances from the first banner to the last, with the content of each banner revealed for the allotted amount of time.  However, on the second and following run-throughs of the PPT presentation only the content of the last banner (out of a total of four) is revealed.  The content of the preceding three banners is never displayed.  I can't seem to find a way to get all four banners to consistently reveal their content (in order) as the PPT presentation continuously loops.  Any suggestions?

Hi, Doug -- Thanks for touching base, and sorry to hear that you are still experiencing issues with sharing your file! Unfortunately, when you reply via email, any attachments you intended to send are not transmitted to be accessible here in the post or via email. May I ask if you are using this form, and if you have tried more than 1 browser to see if you find improvement? Sometimes, switching from Chrome to FireFox or IE will do the trick!

And would it be possible for you to share the size of the zipped Articulate package you created? Perhaps it may be too large to attach via the form. If that is the case, you are welcome to share a pared-down version of the file that is smaller but still exhibits the behavior you are describing, or if that is not an option, you might want to share consider using Dropbox as described here to share the file:

Dropbox: Place your published output in the Public folder in your Dropbox account to share it with others. (Here's how to enable the Public folder.)

One final thing I would like to mention is that when you reply to a forum notification via email, the details in your signature are displayed publicly. If you'd like to remove those details, you are welcome to use the EDIT button below the affected replies over here in the thread

Dear Ms. Pollick,

I appreciate your responding to my emails. I have attempted using both IE and Chrome to send you the file in question. The file size is 4.4 megs, which in my opinion is not large a large file. The issue I am running into is the file gets placed in the que, but never gets uploaded.

Dropbox would be an option if I had an account, but I have no desire to create one simply to submit the file. So I guess we are out-of-luck. Thank you anyway.

Respectfully,

Hi, Doug -- Thanks for your reply and sorry to hear that you are still having troubles! That file size should not pose a problem, so may I ask what may seem like a silly question? After you add the file to the queue, are you then hitting "submit", which is the necessary action for the file to finish the uploading process? Otherwise it will show "0/1 uploaded" until that submit button at the bottom is clicked.

If you find no luck, there is one more option we can try. I will create a case for you, and can email you another upload link to see if that might do the trick.

Thanks for getting back to me, Doug, and I will go ahead and create your case momentarily. You will be provided an upload link in the email you will be sent, and we can give that a shot so that hopefully we can get a look at the file and get you the help you need.

And again, it's no problem on our end, but in the interests of protecting your privacy, I wanted to note that you would be able to use the EDIT button below your posts here to remove your personal details if you'd like.
