Engage interactions in studio 13, published to Articulate online -

Feb 03, 2015

We're creating an online training in Studio 13, with few 'pure powerpoint' slides and many engage interactions. The few powerpoints slides work after bein published in articulate-online as we've designed them (users can only progress after all content is shown for the first time)

We're trying to set the engage interactions in a manner that users are required to view/listen the whole content until they can move to the next one. Interactions are inserted as slides, not tabs.

In theory works well, we even get a message that 'you must complete all steps in order to continue' (see attached), but only in the last step of the interaction, after we're able to move freely. In fact, that is just a message, because if I click previous and go back and quickly click on 'next' again on each step, then the user goes to the next slide, just by clicking in the 'steps' (no matter the type of intercation used).

In some cases is worst, like in the 'bar' interactions, where by clicking next you get to hear all the text at the same time and get the same message after clicking the last step of the interaction. (see picture 2)

Do you have any idea of where we might be making a mistake?

Hi Martin!

With the release of Update 3 for Articulate Studio '13, you can now control how the Prev and Next buttons behave for Articulate Engage interactions embedded in Articulate Presenter courses. The navigation buttons can either jump to the previous/next step in the interaction or the previous/next slide in the overall presentation. See this article for details.

When course navigation is Restricted in Articulate Presenter '13, learners won't be able to advance past an embedded interaction until it's complete. An interaction is considered complete when learners reach the last step of the interaction.
