Hi. Does anyone know of a way to update this interaction to render the lables a different color once the users selects it? This would be useful for a graphic with many labels to click on.
Hi all. I've just been searching re this very concept: my learners don't remember which numbered markers they've clicked among 9 markers on the labeled graphic screen. Besides changing the label colour, is there anything else you can think of that would display that a marker has been opened? I think I already know from what you've written above, but I thought I'd ask the question a little differently.
Thanks very much for getting back to me, Luke. I'd thought about making them go in order, but I was hoping for a little more user choice and randomness than going from 1 - 9. The markers have always been numbered.
It may very well be that I have to make them go in order if there is no other solution. We'll be doing some beta testing right after the holidays so I'll see if others forget which of the 9 items they've already seen (likely, I think.)
Hi Judy the best solution I have really isnt a solution, what we have done in the past is guide the user to use the navigation arrows, but also allow them to click on the individual elements, we then only make the next button show when the user has viewed all the objects, and we rename the next button to completed. You can set them to go through in number order and they can visually see when they have viewed them all.
Until we get an update to engage or get storyline this is how we deal with it
Hi Phil. Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you...things to do for the holidays.
I couldn't get your link to work. I see your site but get an error message saying the file can't be found and I'm not logged in. I try to create a new account and I get an error message something about your site already has my e-mail address. I even downloaded Moodle thinking this might help.
I'm at a loss, but please don't bother to take your time with this. I understand the info you're giving me in your next to last reply. I would have liked to be able to see your examples, but I think I'll just carry on with my work now.
What a great course, Phil! I saw how each of your labeled graphics work and I might solve my problem by having people navigate the labeled graphic by using the green forward and back arrows at the top right. Beyond this, I got some great ideas re how to use other Articulate interactions. Thank you so much for sharing your work with me.
While markers in Engage don't have a "selected state" color, you could create the same type of interaction in Storyline using markers. With Storyline's states feature, you can add a yellow selected state to the markers.

Sorry Luke that cannot be done in the current version of studio
Thanks.
That would make a great feature request though, Luke. Feel free to share your input here:

And not sure if it would be fitting for your interaction, but would using numbered markers help keep your users on track?:

This probably isn't what you were wanting to hear but you could consider numbering and/or making them go in order. Not perfect I know.

Do you have access to Storyline, as well?
