Engage question
May 18, 2011
Hi. I have an issue with Engage I am hoping someone can answer. Whenever I create an engage interaction, it appears that once it is started, it has to be completed before akllowed to progress to the next slide. Is there a way to turn this feature off? I would like to give the option of simply leaving an Engage interaction midsteam without forcing someone to sit through it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Wilson,
Engage '09 offers three playback modes for published interactions:
* Interactive - user can advance in any order
* Linear - user must advance in order
* Presentation - interaction advances by itself

If that doesn't help, are you publishing the interaction to a presentation? If so, are you using a restricted navigation?
Thanks for the response Brian. From the looks of it a user must complete each interaction before they can leave the Engage interaction. Is this correct?
Hi Wilson,
They will have to complete the interaction if the navigation of the presentation is set to restricted. Otherwise, you can change the Properties of the Engage interaction:
Eureka! Thanks Brian, that was just what I needed! I was looking in the wrong place for that command.
