Engage won't open

Hi...
When I click 'Edit in Engage,' it unpacks all the files, but then PPT disappears and won't re-appear. Eventually, I have to close the PPTx. Does this with Quizmaker as well. New PC, so I just installed Presenter, etc. Had other issues where Engage/Quizmaker crashed the program, so I re-installed. Thought it was working fine. Alas, not. Help!
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott. Welcome to E-Learning Heroes!
First, what version of PowerPoint are you running? You might want to confirm that you're using the 32-bit installation of Office and not the 64-bit. Here's more information on that. If you need help finding the version, just let me know!
If you've confirmed you're using the 32-bit installation of Office, are you able to launch Engage or Quizmaker outside of PowerPoint?
Thanks!
Hi Christine...
Thanks for your help. I'm running Office 2007, 32-bit. I can open Engage outside of PowerPoint.
Thanks,
Scott
Hi Scott,
Thanks for getting back to me and for the additional information. Does this happen when you try to edit a specific file through Presenter, or when you try to add a new interaction or quiz?
If it's for specific files, please make sure the files are local. If you try to work with any files on external sources (USB drive, network drives, etc.), you may run in so some strange issues.
Here's more information on working with local files:
If you are experiencing unexpected issues using Articulate software, here are some tips for managing your files which can help prevent issues.
1. Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
2. You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
3. Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.
Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article:

Thanks again Scott!
It's when I try to edit a specific file through Presenter. The files aren't on my Local, but on our network drive, which how we've done it for as long as I can remember. This is a new issue. However, I will try it on my Local and see what that does. Directory path is less than 260 characters, and has no special characters either.
Thanks Christine!
Hi Scott,
Yeah, files can be a little finicky sometimes. If they've worked on the network drive up until this point, you've been pretty lucky! That, or it may just be due to a restriction on the new machine. Let me know if moving them to your hard drive makes a difference.
Thanks!
