Image Zoom Interaction -> resize text area

Hi all,
I'm completly new to Studio 13. Typically I'm using Storyline and previous I've used Studio 09.
Now I'm exploring the different interaction possibilities for explaining source code.
In my opinion, the zoom image could be a good choice, but there is one problem:
If I mark a whole line of code to zoom it, the textarea is placed at the right side with only two lines and two words. To see the rest the students would have to scroll a lot.
Therefore I'm wondering if I could resize or reposition the text area next to the zoomed image in any way?
Thanks for your help
Johanna

Hi Johanna,
I'm having a little trouble visualizing what you're seeing now, and what you'd like to see.
Any chance you could share some screenshots or examples of both? If so, maybe we can share some suggestions that might work for your project.
Thanks!
Christine
Dear Christine,
below is the screenshot which should explain code.
My problem is for example when zooming the two "System.out.println" lines, the additional text has just very little space:
Is there any possibility to place this text below the zoomed area?
Same problem applies to the first zoom area (the package line).
Or do you have any other ideas how to accomplish an interaction with this image where I can show which area was clicked? labels won't do it here (in my opinion)
Thanks a lot
johanna
Hi Johanna,
Correct, the text position and amount of text is a little limited in the Image Zoom interaction.
However, if you don't need to zoom or have learners click the code itself, you could walk them through the code using a different interaction. I would recommend a Guided Image interaction:
You can change the position of the image here. You could insert the original image in the introduction if you'd like, then highlight specific points by modifying images on the additional labels.
Text here will still scroll if there's a lot, but you can modify the size of the font so that more fits into the initial view. This will also cut down on the amount of scrolling for learners as well.
Let me know if this sounds like something that will work for you.
Best,
Christine
Hi Christine,
thanks for your reply.
So there is no possibility to change that. Maybe I'm going to do it with Storyline then
Thanks for the input with guided image. This is the way we are doing it at the moment (using powerpoint).
Best regards
Johanna
Hi Johanna,
I agree - Storyline would be a great option for that :)
Sorry I couldn't find an Engage interaction that fit the requirements for the project, but I am glad that you have an alternative.
Have a wonderful day!
Christine
