Is there any option to customize the next button in Engage

Feb 24, 2014

Hi all, any way to customize the "Next" button when learner click on it. It will direct to the next slide instead without go through all steps. Is this achievable in Engage?

Thanks,

Leslie,

Can you explain what the Engage Properties of 'Allow user to leave interaction - at any time' does?

Based on data above, that each part of the Engage is thought of as a "slide" so why the Next button still moves through all the pieces even if the Engage properties is set to leave at any time, I went to Slide Properties and set the Next button to go to the slide after the Engage slide, but it still didn't work.

Any help to allow learners to really leave an engage slide at any time they choose would be great.  I'm using Engage '13 (have Articulate '13 pro).

Hi Larena and welcome to E-Learning Heroes!

It will allow the learner to leave the interaction if they choose to close the tab or jump to another slide via the menu. Otherwise they would be forced to look through all steps in the interaction. You can read more about that here.

The 'steps' in the interaction are all treated as individual slides when the next button is utilized though as explained above.

Thank you for the quick response.

Doesn't help me create what I need, but at least I know it is not possible to allow Learners to leave an Engage interaction at any time, unless I use a menu (not possible for my situation) or player tab (again not possible, as there is no way to hide/show the player tab when it is needed, displays all or never during the course).

Good to know.

Hey everyone!

With the release of Update 3 for Articulate Studio '13, you can now control how the Prev and Next buttons behave for Articulate Engage interactions embedded in Articulate Presenter courses. The navigation buttons can either jump to the previous/next step in the interaction or the previous/next slide in the overall presentation. See this article for details.
