"Linking" Engage
Aug 03, 2011
Hello,
I need advice/help on how to use Engage for the training I am trying to develop. I am using the Carousel download from this site. I want to use that template for Lending Forms training. I want the participants to be able to choose which form they would like to learn more about from the carousel. Once they choose the form I want them to be able to see the actual form while hearing my audio commentary on it, it would also be ideal if I could use animations to highlight the area of the form I am currently discussing. I know I can accomplish the audio and highlighting in PowerPoint, but how to "link" from the Carousel in Engage to the Forms PowerPoint that I envision or is this not possible? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hi Jeff
You can link to a slide from an engage interaction using the following code:
asfunction:_level44.playslide, X (where X represents the number of the slide)
Insert the code as a link in the text, the learner can then click on that to go to a slide and learn more, see it animated etc.

ps I copied this code from somewhere but can't remeber where so I may have the instructions wrong. Hopefully somebody else here can help out.
Thank You for the response Blair! This did work with a slight bit of tweaking. for the verbiage "playSlide" the S must be capitalized. Thanks again!
