Old Articulate Engage published files not loading anymore in new browsers, IE, Firefox and Chrome

Oct 03, 2017

We are having a lot of problems with loading the published files in our courses. These are old Articulate Engage files dated from 2011. They use to work on all browsers and now we are having the loading wheel and nothing loads. Is it because the newer browsers can't load them anymore. We tried with all the major browsers, IE, Firefox and Chrome, and nothing works. We can republish them with Storyline 2 or 360 and they work again, but we have a tone of them and want to know if there's an easy fix.

Hey Christian!

If those older Engage courses were created in Engage '09, then they wouldn't include an HTML5 output. Since many browsers have recently shifted to blocking Flash by default, this is likely what's causing some of those playback issues.

Our later versions of Studio introduced the option to publish including the HTML5 output, with increased browser and feature support in the latest version (Studio 360).

Hope that helps clarify what's happening a bit! Let me know if you have any questions 😊
