Problem with special characters in Engage

Feb 15, 2014

Hi,

1. I´m using interactions (Studio 13' , Engage); Language set in Spanish.

When publishing I get a sidebar to the left, with a Menu showing my titles in Spanish, yet unable to interpret Spanish special characters (example: vowels with accents).

2. I link the interactions from Presenter. (Also Language = Spanish). Player properties in Presenter are set without sidebar. However the interactions appears with a siedebar. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks, Guido

Hi Leslie,

Sorry for my delay. I've been travelling this week.

Thanks for the advise. Indeed, I left the interactions defaulted to Custtom settings. That's it!

Regarding special characters, here's the Screenshot of the Interaction slides pointing with red arrows the special characters not interpreted (á and ó), in the sidebar to the left . As you can see, that the language is set to Spanish (note other plaayer tabs).

Hi Guido!

Thank you for the additional information. I was actually able to find an issue related to this that our Quality Assurance team is working on. I cannot offer a time frame for when this issue will be addressed. I would recommend, at this time, to take a different approach so that you continue working on your project.

I have flagged this thread so that I can come back and update when necessary.

Hi again,

Perhaps related with the same problem of not interpreting special characters: here's a screenshot of the Engage slide as seen in PPT:

Again, the á in the Title is not interpreted.

Another query: sometimes, when editing and modifying an interaction already linked to Presenter,  and then saving it, the modified interaction is inserted before the old one instead of replacing it. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Hi Leslie,

More problems with special characters.

I´m working with PPT and Presenter in my local language (Spanish). When publishing, some swf files - out of my control -  are automatically named with special characters. Here's an example (note the "ñ"):

Once zipped and later unzipped I get:

The html file is unable to interpret this file, and misses the figure which is in my template.

This problem never happened to me before with the old Studio 09 (a lot of production without problems). Now I´m with Studio 13' . Does this have something to do with the renewed flash convertor? Or the zipper? Any suggestions?

Kind regards
