Swf in new window doesn´t work when embedding in Presenter

Apr 10, 2011

Hi!

When i import a swf file in Engage interactions such as Flashcards or Flipbook it works fine when I publish them as standalone interactions. When embedding them in my course in Presenter, the videos (Swf:s) doesn´t play. The new window opens with the playbar and the playing time for the video, but the screen is bland. Please help!

Hi Henric & welcome to Heroes,

If you have inserted a flash movie that is set to open in a new window and publish for LMS the flash movie will not be visible in your published output if you view the content on your local drive in Internet Explorer on machines running Windows XP SP2 or higher. The flash movie will be visible when you incorporate the content into your LMS.

This issue is due to increased security in Internet Explorer. If you would like to view your flash movie in a new window using Internet Explorer on your local drive, publish for the web first. When you are ready to upload your content to your LMS then you would publish for LMS.

If this scenario doesn't apply to your files, please submit a support case to us by using the link below:

      quality="high"
      type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
      WMODE="transparent"
      width="171"
      height="171"

Hi Tangi,

We'd be happy to take a closer look at your project, if you'd like. Here's how:

1)  First, create an Articulate Presenter Package of your presentation as described here

2)  Then upload the resulting zip file from your computer on the second page of this form.

3)  In the Comments field, include the slide numbers where the issue occurs. Please be as detailed as possible with your description.

We''ll attempt to diagnose what's happening when we receive your upload. Thanks!
