Turn existing PPT slide into engage interaction
Nov 29, 2017
Hi there. I'm new to engage and presenter and to this forum so please be gentle with me!
What I have is a PPT slide with 9 hexagons on it, each with text in it. What I *want* in Presenter, is to allow the learner to hover over each hexagon and see an explanation pop up in a new box, then close either with a click or once the mouse moves to another hexagon.
Is this possible? It seems such a simple interaction, and yet I cannot find a way to do it. I can see that 'labelled graphic' seems to do this, but I can't find a way to do it with the slide graphic I already have. I don't want to use an Engage template when we have our own style and colours.
I'd be so grateful for some advice.

Hi Julie! Welcome to Articulate and E-Learning Heroes! Thanks for posting.
If you'd like to use Engage, you can save your slide as an image (I took a screenshot) to keep your branding, and use an interaction like Guided Image. Check out my example here.
Engage uses pre-built templates to easily add interactivity to your PowerPoint courses. Are you using Engage 360? If so, you'll have access to Storyline 360, and you can fully customize your slide to include objects that pop-out when hovering and to dismiss them as you design.
Thanks for that. I have Engage 360 on one laptop, but am using Parallels on my Mac for this course, and I'm not sure I can have 360 on both so I'm using the free trial on this machine. I'll have a go with the suggestion you've made.

Hi Julie! I just wanted to share our Terms of Service with you. If you scroll to section 2.4, it shares that you can install this on two machines if needed :)
Just let us know if you need further assistance.
