Turn off/disable caption in Engage Media Tour?

Mar 24, 2011

As in subject line - I have video of a busy application screen, and the title is simple, so I'd like to free up space and reduce redundancy. Can I do this?

TIA,

Wayne

Hi Wayne,

To get rid of the caption, you'll need to publish your project and edit a file on the backend.  Here's how:

1.  Publish your Engage interaction

2.  Click on the Open Folder option

3.  Open the engage_content folder

4.  Open the data.xml file in a text editor like Notepad

You'll see something similar to the following text:

[quote]'

<Step id="16d13c3e-607d-4200-ab9b-dd5869bb17f9" name="sunflower.jpg" title="" number="" html="<p align='center'><font face='Articulate' size='13' color=''>Type your caption text here.</font></p>">'

[/quote]

You'll need to remove the html tag and the corresponding data so that it looks like this:

[quote]'

<Step id="16d13c3e-607d-4200-ab9b-dd5869bb17f9" name="sunflower.jpg" title="" number="">

'[/quote]

After you save & view your Engage interaction again, the caption will not appear.  I hope that helps.
