Using mms:// instead of html:// default for hyperlink

Feb 26, 2014

I am trying to add a video from our vendor. It uses a secured hyperlink which starts with mms:// instead of the usuall html://. I tried to add this as a hyperlink to the verbiage we have in Engage, but after making sure it works, I exit and save but the default html:// appears back on the url I created with mms://. Is there a way to stop that from happening or is there a way to edit the url after it is published? It is frustrating to not be able to change the default html:// to something else.

Hi Khanh!

I do not believe that our software supports the mms protocol, which is for Windows Media Player. The fact that it changes back seems to indicate that as well, although I've not seen this question asked before.

Is there another way that you could use your vendor video? Perhaps embedding the video (with the appropriate windows media player) on a website and insert that into your project as a web object?
