Video Encoder 09 Publishing
Jun 03, 2011
Hi,
I am having trouble when I publish from Video Encoder '09. I would like to take an .avi I have produced from Camtasia and put it into an engage media player. When I bring the finished product into Video Encoder '09, it plays very clean and solid. However after I publish it, the video comes out blurry and pixilated. I have also tried to work with an .mp4 and I get the same results.
The size I am working with when I bring it in is large - 1280 x 720. I have used this size for other videos and it has worked fine. I pull it into Video Encoder, publish, then put it into the Engage/Media Player and then into my presentation.
For this particular project however, it is not working. When I publish it from Video Encoder, I have tried to use that same large size but it doesn't work because of the blurriness. I have also used 800 x 600 but still have problems. If I go any smaller than that, you can't see the words on the screen because they are much too small.
Can you please let me know what I am doing wrong or if there is a fix to this?
Thanks so much. I appreciate any help you can provide!!

Hi Denise,
Is your presentation set to fill the entire browser or is it set to lock at the optimized size?
Hi Brian,
Wow, that was quick! Thanks so much for getting back to me.
I am not sure about the presentation setting. Where would I find that? I know when we publish it, we publish it to either web or LMS depending on the use. This one will go on our LMS if that helps.
Hi Denise,
I would create your video at no larger than the dimensions noted here:

If the Engage interaction is in an Articulate Presenter presentation, I would suggest locking the player to its optimal size which you can do in Player Templates -> Other here:

Thank you so much Justin. I will create these new settings for this and all my future projects. This is a tremendous help. You guys are awesome!
