Flash video run on Articulate Online

Help!..Has anyone run into an issue with publishing an Articulate Studio 09 project onto Articulate Online server and the imported Flash video does not play?  It previews fine in Articulate Presenter preview, but once i publish it onto AO, it won't play at all.  I saw some forums that state one has to change the MIME set up on the server to accept .flv files, but I'm assuming since i'm running it off of an ARticulate Online's server, this should already be done?  Please, can anyone offer some advice?

Here are the usual suspects for a video not playing.

Can you also tell me which browser you're using to test the course? Have you tried testing it with any browsers? And is your Flash Player up to date? 

Any chance you could share a link to the course with us, either here or privately, so we can test it on our end?

Hi Peter,

Thanks for responding.  I've checked out the "usual suspects" already and I do not believe any are my issues.  Our corporation runs Flash 10 I believe, and I'm viewing on IE 9.0.8 browser.  I published the file onto Articulate Online and the video that I placed on the slide does not run.   It does however run perfectly when I run a Articulate Preview on my laptop.  

I read the info regarding editing the MIME on the server to accept .flv files, but doesn't Articulate Online already have this as a default? Or am I mis-interpreting this requirement?  Unfortunately, I am not allowed to share this content with the public, but I did run a test on a generic video w/the same format and everything, and that doesn't run on Articulate Online as well. 

fyi...I submitted a case to ARticulate directly as well, and some guy named Cleo is also starting to assist me. (I noticed your "share link" that you provided was the same that he requested...

Thanks for your help, I'm in so deep in "blank" right now, since I'm supposed to have this project completed today.  I assumed when it ran properly via Articulate Preview, that it would run properly off of Articulate Online, but no such luck.. :(   ... so frustrating.

The resolution Cleo found for Michael is as described below:

It may have something to do with your browser or network firewall. I suggest that you try to update your browser and contact your Network administrator/IT Staff to make sure that video streams from Articulate Online are not block by the network/firewall. 

Also, please do the following to see if it resolves the issue you are experiencing: 
1) Upgrade Adobe Flash Player here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash 
2) Clear your browser cache. You can do this in Internet Explorer by going to Tools > Internet Options > General > Temporary Internet Files. Select Delete Cookies and Delete Files. 
3) Also in Internet Options, on the Security, Privacy, and Advanced tabs, reset everything to its default settings. There is a button on each tab to reset defaults. 
4) In Windows Vista / 7, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run. In Windows XP, go to Start > Run. 
5) Copy / paste the following line of text (depending on your operating system) into the Run dialog box. Click OK, and delete the entire contents of the window (folder) that opens. 
Windows Vista / 7: 
"C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects" 
Windows XP: 
"C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects" 
6) Close all browser windows for the changes to take effect, and then test your content again.
