Need clarification on One Person, One Log in

I want to test students using a quiz, but once they are tested they have no need to come back again.

I don't need more than a 50 user account as I don't have more than 50 students at one time.

However, the T&C's seem to imply that I have to give a unique account to each student. "Your login may only be used by one person -- a single login shared by multiple people is not permitted. You may create separate logins for as many people as your plan allows. "

I have no need for the list of unique students to simply keep on growing. Like I have said, once they have completed the quiz, they never come back to take another.

Rather, I would like to allocate a student a pre-assigned ID, such as Student01, Student02, and so on. And then as each student completes the assignment, reallocate that ID to the next student.

Would this be allowed?

You could certainly allocate a user account to a student. Then, if you want to reclaim that user account, you can delete the user from Articulate Online and use the account to create a profile for another user.

Another method you might consider in this scenario is to use the Guestbook feature with Public permissions, which does not require you to create or issue user accounts for each person who takes a quiz.

You would set the permissions on your content to Public, and enable the Guestbook feature for each content item. Then you would only need to provide each student with the appropriate link for the quiz. User accounts are not required for Public content. Results will still be tracked in Articulate Online, and the Guestbook feature will collect relevant data about the student.

Using this method, you will probably want to make sure that "Include full user profile data in exported CSV and XML reports" is enabled in Articulate Online:

  1. Log into Articulate Online.
  2. Navigate to the Settings tab.
  3. Expand Other Settings.
  4. Select the check box for "Include full user profile data in exported CSV and XML reports".
  5. Click the Save button.
