Hi Atul,

I'm definitely not one of the developers for Articulate Online, but I believe that Articulate Online handles the courses by the standards for our software. Since Articulate Online only works with Articulate products, I wouldn't really see it needing to publish as SCORM. I won't pretend to know what goes on behind the scenes, but as far as I understand, this is how it works. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will be able to give you the correct, or some additional details.

This is also the reason Articulate Online doesn't support Tin Can API. Tin Can is normally used for content hosted on external LMS hosts. Currently, Articulate Online does not support it, because Articulate Online only works with our content.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Dear Christine,

Firstly apologies for not acknowledging your answer, it has almost been a year ! Thank you for your answer..

We are currently working on improving our LMS (using Moodle as a platform) but it can sometimes be a pain to get what you want, whilst a lot is possible via Moodle I find the reporting can be pretty tricky, on the other hand Articulate Online is swift and robust when it comes to reporting.

The dilemma I have is that courses developed via storyline, presenter etc. once uploaded on Articulate helps in efficient reporting but If I upload it as a SCORM package on moodle the reporting is limited or may require advance admin, programming skills to get the right reporting capabilities.

Initially we uploaded all our material on Articulate online but as articulate online requires you to login and it is stressful for a learner as they have to login twice ie. once through Moodle and then again when they click on the course link which directs them to articulate online.

Are there any plans to make articulate online an LCMS - this will mean articulate developers can get away from using another LMCS or Moodle to upload material. BTW: if this idea gets approved please do remember to mention me in the credits ;D

Thanks again.

Regards,

Atul

Hi Atul,

I don't think I've heard of anyone using Moodle and linking to a course within Articulate Online, but it's an interesting set up. If you haven't already you may wan to share your thoughts in regards to how you'd like to see Articulate Online develop into a LMCS in the form of a feature request as those go to our product development team.

If there is anything else we can assist with, please let us know!

Dear Ashley,

Thanks for your reply ! that's a good point I am not sure If other have done something like that.

I think I will self proclaim myself as a pioneer for doing this until of course someone comes along and says "Atul that's tried and tested"  . BTW We did it because we always found Articulate online reporting really useful.

Anyway I have made the request now, hopefully the product development team will like it.

Thanks & Regards,

Atul
