AICC vs SCORM - iPad Publishing

Jan 15, 2014

Hello,

With initial testing in our LMS, SumTotal, on an iPad in open browser and with publishing in both formats AICC and SCORM 2004 3rd Edition with multiple launch settings, HTML 5 only, and HTML 5 with 'Use Articulate Mobile Player on iPad (Download)' selected we are seeing varied results:

1.       AICC - HTML 5 only

·         The sizing and launch of module are fine.

·         Bookmarking works correctly.

·         The Exit button and topbar tools show up at initial launch, but then disappear.

·         Registers complete correctly.

2.       SCORM 2004 3rd Edition - HTML 5 only

·         The module is not sizing correctly; far too large; must double tap screen twice on every slide to resize in order to locate navigation buttons.

·         Bookmarking works correctly.

·         The Exit button and topbar tools show up atinitial launch, but then disappear.

·         Upon Exit, launch page hangs and does not prompt LMS to redirect to completion page.

3.       AICC - HTML 5 and Articulate Mobile (Download)

·         No prompt to download for offline in Articulate Mobile player.

·         The sizing and launch of module are fine.

·         Does not bookmark.

·         The Exit button and topbar tools show up atinitial launch, but then disappear.

·         Completion result is not being passed to LMS correctly; remain In Progress or Incomplete.

4.       SCORM 2004 3rd Edition - HTML 5 and Articulate Mobile (Download)

·         No prompt to download for offline in Articulate Mobile player.

·         The module is not sizing correctly; far too large; must double tap screen twice on every slide to resize in order to locate navigation buttons.

·         Bookmarking works correctly.

·         The Exit button and topbar tools show up at initial launch, but then disappear.

·         Upon Exit, launch page hangs and does not prompt LMS to redirect to completion page.

We are using Studio 13’ Presenter Version - 1:1311.520

So far, from my results, publishing in AICC HTML 5 proves to show the best and most stable results.

Are there any suggestions for best practice here and or some possible resolutions to the above 4 scenarios?

Thanks,
