Animation shape outline custom colors do not persist

I'm trying to set up custom colors for the outline of shapes for custom animation in Presenter.

The interface takes the RGB values and recolors the selected square for a custom color, but the settings do not persist after I click OK to return to applying colors. Each time I return, the custom color blocks have reset and the work is lost.

To get to the location:

1. Sync Animations
2. Outline
3. More Outline Colors

The button Add to Custom Colors is active and, as noted above, 

The button Define Custom Colors >> is not active.

As an alternative for getting the outline colors I want, I prefer to use the PPT Custom Theme colors that I already set up. But I don't see how to get that theme to appear under Sync Animations > Outline and then either Stylish Colors or Standard Colors.
