Animations not appearing when attempting to sync

Mar 27, 2013

I am running PPT 2010. I have created the presentation with multiple animations on each slide. However, after I have recorded the audio and want to sync it with the slides animations it shows little to no animations to sync. Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Some slides have 4 animations but syncing only shows 1. This is my first time doing this. Help!

Hi Lynne,

Since this is your first time, you may want to check out the following tutorial on syncing animations:

Sync Animations

If you feel you're following the correct steps to syn your animations, please take a look at the following support articles:

Unable to sync animations if a slide has audio in both PowerPoint and Presenter

Sync Animations may not work if Adobe Presenter was installed first

Multiple attempts to Sync Animations may have unexpected results

If you still have trouble working with your animations, please make sure you're working with local presentation files.

  • Work on your local drive (your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, including file corruption, loss of audio, and other unexpected behavior.
  • You should also make sure the directory path to your project files and your published output is less than 260 characters (for example C:\Articulate).
  • Avoid using special characters, accents or symbols in your file names.

Additional information regarding "Naming Files, Paths, and Namespaces" in Windows operating systems can be found in the following Microsoft article.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you're still unable to get this working.

Problem with Sync Animtaions:

Hi There,

I am currrently working on a CBT for one of my clients and have couple of animations to be synced with the audio which is imported into the PPT deck.

Now, when I try sync animations according to the transcript, the first animtion pops-up right at the moment the audio starts (it was supposed to be an "on-click" animation) and then other animations follow the transcript. Having said that, when I preview the slide, the animations do not appear to be timed as I had done while syncing them.

I tried to remove the animations present in the deck and then re-animated the contents and then tried to sync them. Still the problem persists. Can you please guide me on how to rectify it?

Thanks,
