Animations out of sync with sound

Nov 24, 2013

I'm having problems with powerpoint animations in presenter. They look alright when I record, but when I publish the results they are off by several seconds. Annotations work correctly. For an illustration see http://people.dsv.su.se/~henrikbe/tmp/anim/presentation.html

I'm also having problems with some shapes appearing directly when the slide is displayed in the presenter instead of waiting for the animation step. This behaviour is not as consistent as the other one though.

The setup is Powerpoint 2007 with updated versions of presenter and flash. I have tried resyncing the animations, but the result is the same.

Hi Henrik and welcome to Heroes!

Thanks for sharing the link to your Presenter test file. While watching it, the audio directions were out of sync with the boxes appearing, but it did seem to be synced up with the annotations based on when I could hear you're mouse click (which I'm guessing was the click to "next animation" while syncing). When you're adding annotations to a Presenter file that already has animation it's best to sync those first.

In regards to the second issue you mentioned, I'm not sure I'm following what is happening. Could you offer a bit more explanation, or if possible package this Presenter sample file and share it with us here?

Thanks, I've tried it, and it seems to work better, but not perfect.

The second problem come and go. Take a look at the last slide at
http://people.dsv.su.se/~henrikbe/oop/slumpa-tal/presentation.html
and
http://people.dsv.su.se/~henrikbe/oop/slumpa-tal.old/presentation.html

The only difference between them is that I republished the result today, on the same computer and setup. I didn't change anything in the presentation. I wasn't even in the recording mode during the session, so the data used when publishing both versions should have been identical.
